Sheriff and police report: Three children in car as woman leads deputies on high-speed chase

Randolph County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a report of suspicious activity involving a 2015 Toyota Corolla on County Road 43 near Forester’s Chapel July 1. When deputies attempted a traffic stop, the vehicle fled, reaching speeds of approximately 100 mph on County Road 33, Highway 22 and Highway 77. Stop sticks were successfully deployed, disabling the vehicle.
The driver fled on foot but was quickly apprehended. Three juvenile males were passengers in the vehicle. EMS responded, but all three juveniles declined treatment. The suspect later advised jail staff she had ingested a controlled substance and was transported to Tanner-East Alabama Medical Center for treatment before being returned to jail. The Wadley Police Department assisted.
Other incidents
June 29 – County Road 92, Pine Hill Community
A resident reported the theft of a portable generator, white Pulsar 2,500-watt inverter, Renogy 200-watt solar pure sine inverter, STIHL MS 250 chainsaw, STIHL lithium battery charger and Kobalt 24-volt charger. The Kobalt charger was later located behind the shed. Investigators also found part of a fishing pole inside the shed that did not belong to the property owner.
June 29 – County Road 33, near the Landfill
A 2024 Can-Am XMR 1000 ATV and two sets of wheels (3X 20×9 and 4X 20×10) were reported stolen.
June 30 – County Road 167, Jordan’s Chapel Community
Jewelry, along with gold and silver coins, were reported stolen from a safe.
June 30 – County Road 499, Ava Community
A Winchester .30-30 caliber rifle, Predator 2000-watt generator and NOCO battery charger were reported stolen.
June 30 – County Road 648, Rock Mills
Someone reportedly broke the windshield, cut a tire and possibly cut a brake line on a 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe.
July 1 – County Road 26, Level Road Community
A push mower was reported stolen.
July 1 – County Road 58, Liberty Grove Community
A complainant reported that a new credit card mailed to a former address was activated and used by the current residents.
July 2 – County Road 29, Heflin
A 19-by-19-foot metal, top-only carport was reported stolen.
July 2 – County Road 112, Bethel East Community
A property owner reported that neighboring dogs entered his property near his deer pens, causing the deer to panic and run into fencing. Two deer died and several others were injured. The property owner secured both dogs before contacting the Sheriff’s Office. The owner of the dogs was notified.
July 2 – County Road 646, Woodland
A gold chain, hoodie, vehicle wheel and tire were reported stolen.
July 3 – County Road 57, Ofelia Community
A back door had been forced open. At the time of the report, it was unclear whether any property had been taken.
July 3 – Woodland
A Woodland volunteer firefighter was seriously injured while assisting with the community fireworks display. While carrying a case of mortar fireworks near one of three trailers set up approximately 300 yards from spectators, sparks ignited the mortars, causing an explosion. The firefighter was transported by helicopter to Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta. Fire Marshal Freeman investigated the incident.
July 4 – County Road 637, Tin Shop Community
The Randolph County Sheriff’s Office, Tin Shop Volunteer Fire Department and Southern Ambulance Transport responded to an ATV accident. The driver and his 14-year-old passenger were both airlifted to WellStar Kennestone Regional Medical Center in Marietta, Georgia. The crash is being investigated by the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.
July 5 – Highway 48, Woodland
Woodland One Stop reported a gas drive-off involving a black four-door Jeep Wrangler driven by a white male.
Sheriff’s arrests
Angel Brooke Rose Jenkins (also known as Angel Morrow), 29, of Carrollton, Georgia — False reporting to law enforcement — June 29.
This arrest stems from a June 19 incident in which Jenkins initially reported she had accidentally shot herself while removing a handgun from her waistband while driving. She later stated that a passenger in the vehicle was responsible for her injury.

Amy Zamorano-Vazquez, 35, of LaGrange, Georgia — Resisting arrest, second-degree possession of marijuana, attempting to elude, tampering with evidence, possession of drug paraphernalia, trafficking, three counts of abandonment of a child and three counts of reckless endangerment — July 1.
Holly Joanne Creed, 37, of Woodland — Fugitive from justice (Troup County, Georgia) — July 2.
Kevin Rufus Watts, 46, of Wadley — Failure to appear in court (third-degree criminal mischief and menacing) — July 3.
Gregory Scott Cathey, 50, of Roanoke — Failure to appear in court (public intoxication and public lewdness) — July 5.
