The Handley High School class of 2026 enthusiastically followed the hat-throwing tradition at the end of Thursday’s graduation ceremony.
The Handley High School class of 2026, which was 82 students strong, received its diplomas Thursday in the school’s annual graduation ceremony, marking the final official event in the county’s 2025-26 school year.
Due to the threat of weather Thursday night, Handley school officials made the call about three hours before the scheduled 7:30 start time to move the ceremony indoors to the school’s basketball gymnasium. Doors opened on a first-come, first-serve basis at 6:30 p.m., which prompted a long line to form outside the gym in the time leading up to 6:30. By the time graduation began the gym bleachers were packed full on each side, and other standing attendees filled every available space to watch the students on their milestone night.
After the traditional speeches from valedictorian Alli Amason and salutatorian Baleigh Clanton, Handley principal Todd Cole handed out the diplomas.
