New Roanoke city clerk Kim Stone takes the oath of office at Monday’s meeting of the Roanoke City Council. She is joined by her children Lela and Jackson.
Kim Stone was sworn in as the new city clerk and treasurer for the City of Roanoke at Monday’s meeting of the Roanoke City Council.
Stone was among the city’s new hires back in February but was not available to begin work in Roanoke until this week due to obligations at her prior place of employment. She was the clerk for the City of Heflin before taking the job here in Roanoke.
Stone was sworn in by city court clerk Rita Jones, who filled in as the city clerk in the interim between the departure of former clerk Amanda Davis and the start of Stone’s tenure. Stone had her children Jackson and Lela beside her as she was sworn in.
