When your team wins at a high level, the rest of the state tends to take notice of the players that made that happen.
That theory applies to the ASWA’s 2026 all-state softball teams and the players from Randolph County who were recognized as part of them.
Two schools from the county made the state tournament this past season, and five players from those two schools were honored as members of the all-state teams.
For RCHS it was a pair of first-time honorees who joined a player who made all-state for the second straight year.
For Woodland it was the star pitcher making it for the second straight year, and the leadoff hitter and shortstop who was recognized for the first time.
Here are the five players who were named to the all-state teams and the numbers that they put up to earn that recognition:
Gracie Huckeba – RCHS senior shortstop – Class 3A first team
The only senior starter on RCHS’s second-straight state tournament team will be sorely missed next season. As the team’s leadoff hitter Huckeba hit .495 with a 1.408 OPS. She stole 29 bases without being caught and scored 64 runs, leading the team in both of those categories. She also hit two home runs, drove in 24, and struck out just three times in 121 plate appearances. Huckeba has signed with Southern Union.
Railey Williams – Woodland junior pitcher – Class 1A second team
It’s the second straight all-state season for Williams, who has been irreplaceable in the circle over the past two seasons for the Lady Cats. This year she pitched 170 of a possible 205 innings in the 37 games Woodland played. She went 19-6 with a 2.43 ERA and 197 strikeouts.
Abi Waters – RCHS junior pitcher – Class 3A second team
Waters stepped into her role as the team’s primary pitcher and put together an outstanding season in helping lead her team to its second straight state tournament appearance. Waters went 17-8 with a save, while posting a 2.31 ERA and striking out 107 in 118.1 innings pitched. She also was one of six RCHS starters to bat over .400 as she hit .407 and finished third on the team with 32 RBI.
Alyssa Taylor – Woodland sophomore shortstop – Class 1A second team
Taylor’s first all-state appearance most likely will not be her last. As Woodland’s leadoff hitter she led the team in batting average (.487), OPS (1.381), home runs (3), RBI (31), runs scored (43) and stolen bases (50). Her confidence and uninhibited play on the base paths was instrumental in creating runs for Woodland in a season in which the lineup wasn’t quite as deep as in years past.
Hannah Parmer – RCHS sophomore catcher – Class 3A honorable mention
Honorable mention doesn’t fully match the season that Parmer had offensively, but it’s the second straight season that Parmer landed among that group. Like Taylor (and all of the underclassmen on this list) this will not be Parmer’s final appearance among the state’s best players. She batted .500 with a 1.554 OPS and hit 9 home runs while driving in 62.She also runs the bases well as her 10 stolen bases attest.
