At approximately 2 p.m. Tuesday officers of the Valley Police Department were dispatched to the area of Charter Drive and 20th Avenue in reference to a hit and run accident. While responding, officers learned that one of the vehicles involved was a stolen vehicle and had just been chased by Harris County Deputies and that they had terminated the chase upon reaching the Alabama state line.
While turning around to go back to their jurisdiction, deputies noticed that the suspect vehicle had struck another vehicle on Charter Drive. The driver of the second vehicle had minor injuries and was taken to EAMC-Lanier for treatment.
The driver of the suspect vehicle was captured on 19th Avenue a short time later. The driver was identified as a 16-year-old juvenile of Five Points. The vehicle he was driving was reported as being stolen out of Roanoke.
The juvenile is being charged with Possession of Stolen Property 1st Degree. The juvenile was taken to EAMC-Lanier for treatment of injuries he sustained in the accident.
