Junior firefighters recognized

The Rock Mills Volunteer Fire Department recognized their junior firemen at their annual Christmas dinner Monday.

In addition to fireman of the year, the Rock Mills VFD presented their Junior Fireman with awards of appreciation. The program currently consists of five members who are able to shadow other members and assist with calls.

This program gives these young men the opportunity to learn not only the ropes of being a firefighter but also a chance to learn core values such as teamwork, bravery, and most of all selflessness.

Rock Mills VFD is proud to be able to sponsor a Junior Fireman program. These young men are the future of the department and will one day be the saving grace of the Rock Mills community during the inevitable times of despair and emergency.

The junior firemen are, from left, Cason Hill, Lane Yarbrough, Tristen Mapp, Brayden Rampy and Jamison Hester.
