Man arrested for starting fire at baseball field

A Roanoke man was arrested for setting fire to the restrooms at Roanoke’s minor league ball field last week.

Dionte Malik Dallas, 23, was charged with arson and third-degree criminal mischief in connection with the fire on the night of May 10. The plastic trashcans in the men’s and women’s restrooms were set on fire, and the faucets were left on, causing damage to the walls and floors.

Dallas is also charged with burglary and fourth-degree theft of property for going into a storage building on North Handley Avenue and taking a gas jug.
