Don Laney Sr.

(LANETT) Don Laney Sr., 83, of Lanett died Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2021, at his residence.

A graveside service will be Friday, Sept. 3, at 1 p.m. EDT at Hillcrest Cemetery in Lanett with the Rev. Brad Terry and the Rev. Bill Jackson officiating.

Mr. Laney was born in Randolph County on March 16, 1938, to the late Robert Merrell Laney and the late Cloie Mae Bailey Laney. He was a member of Lanett Church of Christ, retired from DeZurik Valve Industry in LaGrange, Ga., after 25 years of service, and known for his beekeeping.

He is survived by his four children, Bobby Laney (Sandy), Donna Jackson (Bill), Wanda Moncus (Scott) and Rhonda Terry (Brad); 16 grandchildren, Ryan Moncus (Misty), Brandon Moncus (Jayme Jerrell), Brooke Peters (Brad), Colby Terry (Amber), Courtney Arsenault (Talon), Chloe Bridges (Cole), Benjamin Jackson (Katy), Morgan Jackson, Clint Jackson (Christa), Tiffany Currington, Autumn McCants, Gareth Laney (Chloe), Caleb Jackson, Ellie Anna Jackson, Allie Jackson and Isabelle Jackson; and 25 great-Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Faye Laney; son, Donnie Laney; brothers, Herchal Laney and Billy Laney; and great-grandson Dallas Moncus.
