Billy Lee Harrison

(ROANOKE) Lifelong Roanoke resident Billie Lee Harrison, 66, died Sunday, Aug. 8, 2021, at his residence.

Viewing will be Wednesday, Aug. 18, from 1 to 6 p.m. at Clark Memorial Funeral Service.

A graveside service will be Thursday, Aug. 19, at 2 p.m. at Rock Mills Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Harrison was born in Randolph County on Nov. 6, 1954, to the late Willie Sr. and Rosa Lee Harrison. Billy attended Randolph County High School and was a lifelong member of Rock Mills Baptist Church. Billy worked at Terry Manufacturing and Plantation Patterns and retired from Jac Products in Franklin, Ga. A 4th-degree Black Belt in Taekwondo, he trained many youngsters in the art of Taekwondo. Billy hosted many competitions, and over the years, boasted many award-winning events. He later took more of an interest in gardening.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Kathy Phillips of Roanoke; sons, Corey J. “Kane” Bradfield (Austen) of LaGrange, Ga., Cedric Phillips (Shunta) and Evander Phillips of Roanoke; stepson, Patrick Phillips; stepdaughter, Felicia, all of Roanoke; brother, Charlie Joe Harrison; sisters, Martha Johnson, Ruby Jean Christian and Brenda Harrison; 17 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many neighbors and friends in the East Roanoke community and beyond. He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Willie Junior Harrison, Hubert Harrison and Willie Maud Harrison, Mary Staples, Annie P. Dunson and Johnnie Mae Bowen.
