Shannon E. Halsey
(OPELIKA) The funeral for Shannon E. Halsey, 66, of Opelika will be Friday, Jan. 29, 2021, at 1 p.m. at Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Bro. Stoney Halsey and Bro. Ed Halsey officiating. Burial will follow at Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday before services begin.
Mr. Halsey died Tuesday, Jan. 26, at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika.
A Randolph County native, Mr. Halsey was born Nov. 11, 1954, son of the Rev. Cecil Manley and Mable Aline Noles Halsey. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church and worked as a salesman for Golden Flake.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Robertson Halsey of Opelika; two daughters, Rachel Dauber (Brian) of Hartselle and Amanda Baker (Jason) of Opelika; mother, Aline Halsey of Roanoke; seven grandchildren, Brayden Dauber, Makayla Baker, Caleb Dauber, Brianna Pike, Aubrey Baker, Clayton Pike and Liam Baker; mother-in-law, Hazel Robertson; two sisters, Cecilia Mitchell (Roger) of Phenix City and Vonda Woody (Scott) of Roanoke; and two brothers, Stoney Halsey (Melissa) and Ed Halsey (Rhonda), both of Roanoke. Mr. Halsey was preceded in death by his father, Rev. Cecil Halsey, and father-in-law, Walter Robertson.
Pallbearers will be Jason Mitchell, Cecil Mitchell, Eric Halsey, Sean Halsey, Britt Halsey and Caleb Duffie. Honorary pallbearers will be Mr. Halsey’s grandsons, Caleb, Clayton, Liam and Brayden.
