Gordon Harrington

(ROANOKE) Graveside services for Gordon Harrington, 86, of Roanoke will be Sunday, Nov. 8, 2020, at 2 p.m. CT at Bethel East Baptist Church Cemetery, Woodland, with Bro. Keith Runels officiating.

The family will receive friends at the church from 1 to 2 p.m. on Sunday before services begin.

Mr. Harrington died Thursday, Nov. 5, at The Oaks in Carrollton, Ga.

A Woodland native, Mr. Harrington was born March 1, 1934, the son of George Henry Harrington and Ethel Parmer Langley. He was a member of Bethel East Baptist Church and worked as a welder for Trent Tube Company.

Survivors include his three daughters, Shelia Geter (Frankie) of Bowdon, Ga., Melinda Robinson (Greg) of Wedowee and Krista Traylor (Thomas) of Woodland; son, Tim Gordon Harrington (Lynn) of Woodland; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Robinson of Opelika; and brother, Steve Harrington of LaGrange, Ga. Mr. Harrington was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marie Harrington; and brother, Neal Harrington.

Pallbearers will be Mr. Harrington’s grandsons and great-grandsons.
