Human remains found in Roanoke
Human remains found in Roanoke on Monday afternoon have been sent to the Alabama Department of Forensic Science.
According to Roanoke Police Chief Adam Melton, the police received a call around 2:45 to a wooded area off of Bell Road. The remains appeared to have been there for several months, and there was evidence nearby indicating a possible suicide.
Identification found at the scene belonged to Lino Gomez Antonio, 36; however, RPD has received information the individual also went by Jose Lino Gomez. Melton said that individual was arrested by Roanoke Police in July. While he did live here, it is not known if he had any relatives in the area.
It is hoped ADFS can confirm the identity and cause of death. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call Roanoke Police at (334) 863-2121.
