Moving truck destroyed in Sunday fire
A tractor trailer was engulfed in flames on Sunday morning in the middle of U.S. 431 in front of Walmart. According to Roanoke Police Department, when first responders arrived, the truck was fully engulfed and the front of the trailer was on fire. The driver said just as he went past Ft. McClellan Credit Union, his truck started vibrating badly. He tried to get off the highway, but could not so he stopped in the yellow stripes in front of Walmart. As he stopped, he looked in the mirror and saw flames coming from under the truck. He jumped out and ran for safety. The trailer was fully loaded with assorted household furniture. No one was injured.
