Doris Buchanan Haynes

(HUGULEY) Doris Buchanan Haynes, 89, of Huguley died Saturday, March 7, 2020, at her residence.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 10, at noon EDT at Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel in Valley. Interment will follow at Friendship Christian Church Cemetery in Roanoke. The Rev. Derrick Rutledge will officiate. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 11 a.m. EDT until the service hour at the funeral home.

She was born on May 4, 1930, in LaGrange, Ga., to the late John Lesley Buchanan and Lois Lee Duke Buchanan. Mrs. Haynes was a faithful member of Pine Forest Congregational Church in Valley for 52 years. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary #67. She enjoyed quilting, gardening and watching westerns. She was an avid Alabama fan.

Mrs. Haynes is survived by her daughter, Leigh Howell (Jonathan); grandchildren, Carlen Howell and David Howell; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rudolph Haynes, and son, Lesley Haynes.
