Alida G. Stribling

(WEDOWEE) The funeral for Alida G. Stribling, 58, of Wedowee will be Friday, Jan. 10, 2020, at 1 p.m. at Benefield Funeral Chapel with Elder Thomas Knight officiating. Burial will follow at Stephens Mission Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday.

Mrs. Stribling died Saturday, Jan. 4, at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika.

A Wedowee native, Ms. Stribling was born Nov. 9, 1961, the daughter of Robert Lee Woodgett and Veronia Lancaster-Saddler. She was Christian by faith and had worked as a receptionist for Manheim.

Survivors include a son, Allen Stribling Jr. of Nuevo, Calif.; two sisters, Lonnie Mae Miller, of Gadsden and Annie Mae Saddler of Cleveland, Ohio; five grandchildren, Yasmine O. Jimenez-Stribling, Ruqayyah A. Majied-Muhammad, Alyssa Jiminez-Stribling, Alonna M. Stribling and Allen D.X. Stribling III; special friend, Horace Roberson; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Ms. Stribling was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Allen Stribling Sr.; one sister and one brother.
