Michael May
(VALLEY) Michael May, 74, of Valley, Ala., died Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at St. Martin’s in the Pines Retirement Community in Birmingham.
Mr. May was born March 12, 1944 in Langdale, Ala., to the late Buck May and the late Bernice Gilmore Hill. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Margaret Brown, Elaine Moncus, and Jennifer Shoemake.
Mr. May attended Johnson Chapel Church.
He was the co-owner and operator of WM Contractors, specializing in HVAC, until his retirement. After retirement, he spent much of his time on the lake and rivers, where he enjoyed fishing.
He is survived by his daughter, Suzette May of Lanett; a brother, Wayne May of Green Pond, Ala.; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Friday, July 6, at 2 p.m. EDT at Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home chapel in Valley. His family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 1 p.m. EDT until the service hour.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made in Michael’s name to a charity of your choice.
