Sara J. ‘Patsy’ Smith

(ROANOKE) Funeral services for Sara J. “Patsy” Smith, 66, of Roanoke will be Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2018, at 3 p.m. at Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Mike Brewer officiating. Burial will follow at Cedarwood Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday.

Mrs. Smith died Sunday, Dec. 31, at her home.

A Randolph County native, Mrs. Smith was born Nov. 10, 1951, the daughter of Ernest and Etter Craft Smith. She was Baptist by faith and worked as a twister operator at Candlewick Yarns.

Survivors include one son, Joey Hand of Roanoke and four grandchildren. Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ranney Smith; one sister, Nellie Jean “Monk” Smith; and one brother, Eddie Joe “Shorty” Smith.
