Ruby W. Morris

(CRAGFORD) The funeral service for Ruby W. Morris, 59 of Cragford, will be Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2016, at 2 p.m. at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville with Bro. John Waites and Bro. Brandon Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in New Harmony Christian Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Morris died Sunday, Dec. 4, at her home.

She was born in Jacksonville, Fla., and grew up in Jesup, Ga., where she met the love of her life, Gene Morris. In 1974, Ruby and Gene married and settled in Clay County, where she worked as the secretary for Gene’s logging firm, Gene Morris Logging. Ruby loved taking care of her home and family, doing yardwork and canning vegetables. She was a member of Ashland Church of God.

Mrs. Morris is survived by her husband of 43 years, Gene Morris of Cragford; her daughter, Misty Morris Calhoun (Matthew) of Brandenburg, Ky.; her son, Greg Morris (Michelle) of Cragford; two sisters: Linda Lane of Cragford and Birdie Woods of Jesup; two brothers, Bayne Eason and Clayton Eason, both of Blackshear, Ga.; and seven grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Mark Satterfield, Steve Mitchell, Greg Unger, Chris Woods, Anthony O’Quinn and Hunter Johnson.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 5:30 p.m.-8 p.m. at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville.
