Alex City to vote on Sunday sales of alcoholic beverages

When voters in Alexander City go to the polls for their municipal election on August 23, they will have the chance to weigh in on whether or not alcoholic beverages will be sold on Sundays.

The Alexander City Council voted 5-0 Monday night to allow the city’s voters to decide the issue. In its resolution the city council specified the hours of sale on Sundays as noon to 11 p.m.

Currently the legal sale of alcoholic beverages is prohibited on Sundays in the city.
