Career Expo and prep workshop scheduled

The Randolph County JOBS Task Force and Randolph County Economic Development Authority are kicking off their 9th Annual Career Expo on April 19 at Trinity Baptist Church’s family life center in Roanoke from 9 a.m. until noon.

The purpose of the event is to create an experience for the people in Randolph County and surrounding areas to not just find employment, but find a career and obtain gainful employment in a field or profession that they love and enjoy doing.

As always, the Career Expo will host a variety of employers, businesses and organizations that range from healthcare professionals, education, manufacturers, independent business owners, staffing companies, military recruiters and many others. Employers can expect attendees of a varying skill level, including experienced operators, college graduates, certified technical persons, high school students, job readiness trainees and many others. Other than pursuing employment opportunities in the area, the Career Expo is also an excellent opportunity to practice networking and interviewing skills.

A free career prep workshop will be Wednesday, April 13, to help applicants prepare for the upcoming Career Expo. The free workshop will assist with resume writing and interview sills. This workshop will be held at Randolph County Economic Development Building located at 218 U.S. Hwy. 431, Roanoke, at 10 a.m.

This event is free and open to the public.

The JOBS Task Force and Randolph County Economic Development Authority, in partnership with the Randolph County Department of Human Resources, look forward to seeing everyone in attendance.
