Mary Lee Patterson Allen

(ROANOKE) Funeral services for Mary Lee Patterson Allen, 81, of Roanoke will be Tuesday, March 15, 2016, at 2 p.m. at Woodland Church of God with the Revs. Carolyn Hanner, Phillip Patterson and Windell Patterson officiating. Burial will follow at Gray Hill Church of God Cemetery, Woodland.

Mrs. Allen died Saturday, March 12, at Roanoke HealthCare.

A lifelong resident of Randolph County, Mrs. Allen was born April 30, 1934, the daughter of Jesse and Leola Hand Patterson. She was a member of Woodland Church of God and was a homemaker.

Survivors include two daughters, Patricia Barrett of Oneonta and Sharon Metcalfe (husband, Jim) of Temple, Ga.; one son, Doyle Allen (wife, Anita) of Roanoke; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Ina Mae Franklin of Sylacauga; three brothers, Gilbert Patterson of Tyus, Ga., Gerald Patterson of Tallapoosa, Ga., and Clyde Patterson of Woodland; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Rev. Thomas P. Allen; one brother, Junior Patterson; and one infant sister, Mageline Patterson.

Pallbearers will be A.J. Baldwin, Justin Baldwin, Tim May, Joel Franklin, Jim Metcalfe and Byron Baldwin.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m. on Monday. Mrs. Allen will lie in state at the church one hour prior to services beginning on Tuesday. Online condolences may be expressed at www.quattlebaumfuneralhome.com.
