John Thomas Simons

(ROANOKE) John Thomas Simons, 80, of Roanoke died Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2016, at Tanner Medical Center in Carrollton, Ga.

A Randolph County native, Mr. Simons was born June 23, 1935, the son of Homer Clem and Cumi Viola Clark Simons. He was a self-employed logger.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Simons of Roanoke; two daughters, Donna Rene Gore and Lisa Simons of Roanoke; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one sister, Betty Ann Miles of LaGrange, Ga. Mr. Simons was preceded in death by his parents and two sons, Ronnie and Donnie Simons.
