Breakfast, celebration among local MLK Day activities

The annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day activities will be hosted by the Randolph County chapter of the Alabama Democratic Conference (ADC) on Monday, Jan. 18. The day will start with a prayer breakfast with the Rev. Dr. W.T. Edmondson bringing the message at 8:30 a.m. at the 431 Banquet Hall in Welch. Tickets for the breakfast are $7 in advance. The day will climax with the birthday celebration at 6 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Riley Street, with the Rev. E. Tramaine Solomon as the guest speaker. District Judge Clay Tinney is the platinum sponsor for the day’s activities.
