Cecil A. Whatley Jr.

(WEDOWEE) Graveside services for Cecil A. Whatley Jr., 74, of Wedowee were Sunday, July 12, 2015, at 2 p.m. in Cedarwood Cemetery with the Rev. Ricky Emery officiating.

Mr. Whatley died Friday, July 10, at his residence.

A Lee County native, Mr. Whatley was born July 29, 1940, the son of Cecil A. Whatley Sr. and Hazel Davis Whatley. He served in the U.S. Air Force and had been employed in the carpentry business.

Survivors include five daughters, Beebe Lou Chappell of Oxford, Bonnie Suzanne Hicks, Belinda Jolene Johns and April Whatley Rowe, all of Roanoke, and Hazel Kimberly Whatley; one son, Cecil A. Whatley III of Woodland; ten grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one sister, Kay Whatley Richardson of Mississippi. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Jimmie Lou Whatley; and one brother, Dan Whatley.

Pallbearers were John Simons, Jessie Simons, Matthew Tankersley, James Neal, Jake Farias, Dwight Rowe and Josh Lanning.
