Medicare meeting in Wedowee

Is it time to pick a Medicare plan or a Part D Medicare prescription plan? With so many options, the choice can be confusing and a little overwhelming. With no Medicare office in town, where do you turn?

If you are uncomfortable depending on the www.Medicare.gov plan finder, or calling the 1800-Medicare toll free line and want some local assistance, the East Alabama Regional Planning and Development Commission Area Agency on Aging SHIP program is for you.

The State Health Insurance Program (SHIP) is officially designated by the Alabama Department of Senior Services and the U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services to provide Medicare counseling. We will not only give you advice on selecting a plan, but also see if you are eligible for Medicare Savings Programs to help with your premiums and copayments.

If you live in Randolph County come to the City hall on Main Street in Wedowee on Thursday, July 24. An informational meeting may answer most of your questions from 9-10 a.m. Then from 10 a.m.-noon, individual counseling will be offered. The SHIP program offers free, unbiased information as your health care advocate.
