Randy Cofield

(NEWELL) Funeral services for Randy Cofield, 59, of Newell will be Sunday, Sept. 22, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Benefield Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Ed Halsey officiating. Burial will follow at Union Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Cofield died Friday, Sept. 20, at his residence.

A Randolph County native, Mr. Cofield was born Jan. 6, 1954, the son of Ocie Carter Cofield and Margaret Meacham Brazel. He worked in the maintenance department at Mohawk Industries.

Survivors include his wife, Sissy Cofield of Newell; one daughter, Misty Cofield of Roanoke; two stepsons, Cory Whaley of Montgomery and Chad Whaley of Roanoke; two sisters, Tammy Chambers of Ranburne and Vickie McWhorter of LaFayette; two brothers, Jerry Cofield and Pat Cofield, both of Valley; and five grandchildren. Mr. Cofield was preceded in death by his parents.

Pallbearers will be Bobby Duke, Barney Strickland, Ray Alewine, Jack Brown, Gary Waters and Jerome Barber.
