Wayne Hooper

(LaFAYETTE) Wayne Hooper, 57, of LaFayette died Friday, Sept. 13, 2013, at East Alabama Medical Center, Opelika.

The funeral will be Tuesday, Sept. 17, at 2 p.m. at Jeff Jones Funeral Home with burial in LaFayette City Cemetery with the Rev. Dale Wood officiating.

He was born Jan. 8, 1956, in Georgia. Mr. Hooper was a master mechanic for more than 40 years. He owned and operated Wayne’s Auto Repair in LaFayette.

Survivors are his wife, Peggy Hooper of LaFayette; two children, Mary Ann Hooper of Delta and Derriel Wayne Hooper of Marietta, Ga.; his mother, Mary Ethel Mullally of LaFayette; three sisters, Mary Businelle of Ashland, Tina Duke of Alto, Ga., and Irene Driver of Fruithurst; one brother, Thomas Lamar Hooper of Loganville, Ga.; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Charles Wayne Hooper Jr.

Visitation will be at the funeral home on Monday from 5-7 p.m.
