George Dean Pollard

(ROANOKE) Funeral services with military honors for George Dean Pollard, 71, of Roanoke, will be Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2013, at 10 a.m. at Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Frank Foster Jr. officiating.

Mr. Pollard died Saturday, Aug. 10, at Wedowee Hospital.

Survivors include his wife, Annette H. Pollard of Roanoke; two sons, Dean F. Pollard and John L. Pollard, both of Albany, Ga.; two stepsons, Russell Cook of Franklin, Ga., and Paul Cook of Roanoke; one sister, Doris Jean Hadaway of Lanett; one brother, Jimmy T. Pollard of Opelika; six grandchildren and three step-grandchildren.

A former resident of LaGrange and Cordele, Ga., Mr. Pollard was born Oct. 14, 1941, at West Point, Ga., the son of C.B. and Mildred Pearl Carpenter Pollard. He was a Vietnam veteran and a retired Air Force staff sergeant with 20 years of service.
