James Cecil Langley
(LaGRANGE, Ga.) James Cecil Langley, 85, of LaGrange, Ga., died on Aug. 6, 2013, at Hospice LaGrange.
The funeral will be Friday, Aug. 9, at 2 p.m. EDT at Baptist Tabernacle Church, LaGrange, with the Rev. Jimmy McMillian officiating. Interment will follow at Marseilles Cemetery, West Point, Ga.
Mr. Langley was born Dec. 10, 1927, in Randolph County, Ala., to the late James Jefferson Langley and Nannie Bell Eiland Langley. He worked as a nurse at various locations, and after retirement from nursing, worked as a security guard for P&G Duracell. Mr. Langley was the oldest serving deacon and member of Baptist Tabernacle Church in LaGrange.
Mr. Langley is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Rev. Steve Langley and Teresea of Five Points, Ala.; daughter and son-in-law, Terressa and Phillip May of LaGrange; stepdaughter, Pam Coleman of Eatonton, Ga.; son-in-law, Danny Coleman of LaGrange; sister, Doris Adams of Beulah, Ala.; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Smedley Langley; brothers, Andrew and Pete Langley; and sisters, Polly Jones and Dorothy Langley; and a granddaughter.
