Ruby Lois Freeman Hanson
(PIEDMONT) Ruby Lois Freeman Hanson, 87, of Piedmont died surrounded by her family on Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013.
The funeral will be Saturday, Jan. 12, at 2 p.m. at Hughes Street Congregational Holiness Church with burial in Piedmont Memory Garden.
Mrs. Hanson was an avid gardener, had been a textile worker, loved flowers and was a “super good cook” and seamstress. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Edward Hanson Sr., who pastored Emmanuel Holiness Church for 43 years, with Mrs. Hanson serving as her husband’s intercessory prayer warrior. After retiring, they attended Hughes Street Congregational Holiness Church.
Survivors include her daughters and their husbands, Bobbie Ward of Jackson, Tenn., Sandra and Jim Adderhold of Wedowee, Martha and Lewis Rhinehart of Rock Run and Brenda Gould of Villa Rica, Ga.; sons and their wives, Cecil E. and Marcia Hanson Jr. and Dennis and Eva Hanson, all of Piedmont, Jimmy and Cyndi Hanson of McDonough, Ga., Charles and Susan Hanson of Griffin, Ga.; 29 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a grandson.
Visitation will be Jan. 11 from 5-8 p.m. at Dansby Heritage Chapel and one hour prior to the service at the church.
