Mary Ellen Bell Lindsey
(LINEVILLE) Funeral services for Mary Ellen Bell Lindsey, 80, of Lineville will be Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville with the Revs. Johnny Hamlin and Ronnie Key officiating. Burial will follow in Union “D” Baptist Church Cemetery.
Ms. Lindsey died Sunday, Jan. 6, at Clay County Nursing Home.
She was a native and lifelong resident of Clay County and had worked in the housekeeping department at Cheaha State Park for more than 13 years. Ms. Lindsey had also worked at Higgins Manufacturing, Southland Manufacturing and was a member of Union “D” Baptist Church.
She is survived by two daughters and their husbands, Rhonda Rostofer and Gary of Wedowee and Shirley See and Carl of Ohio; four sons and their wives, James A. Lindsey and Martha, Michael Lindsey and Rodney Lindsey, all of Lineville, and James Clay Lindsey and Rose of Hollis Crossroads; two sisters, Geraldine Forbus of Delta and Jean Croger of Weaver; two brothers, Johnnie Bell of Delta and Ralph Bell of Laurel Hill, Fla.; 14 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Ms. Lindsey was preceded in death by her parents, Aurthur Alexander Bell Sr. and Gussie Sasnett Bell; one son, Phillip Wayne Bell; four sisters and four brothers.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
The family will receive friends at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville on Tuesday, Jan. 8, from 5:30-8 p.m. and until service time on Wednesday.
