Glenda Runell Runyan Simpson
(CARROLLTON, Ga.) Glenda Runell Runyan Simpson, 77, of Carrollton, Ga., died Friday, Dec. 28, 2012.
Funeral services were Monday, Dec. 31, at 11 a.m. EST in the chapel of Almon Funeral Home with the Rev. Hal Simpson and Cathy Gambrell officiating. Interment will be in the Pine Hill Church of Christ Cemetery in Newell, Ala., with the Rev. Wade Bryant officiating.
Mrs. Simpson was born in Graham, Ala., on Sept. 18, 1935, the daughter of the late Sam Runyan and Missy Cosper Runyan. She retired as a teacher’s assistant for handicapped children at Central Elementary School and was a member of Pine Hill Church of Christ in Newell.
Survivors include her daughter, Carol Shaw; son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Kristi Simpson, all of Carrollton; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Kitty Luick of Atlanta; and other family. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Simpson; and brothers, Ray Runyan, Alfred Runyan and Crawford Runyan.
Pallbearers will be David Runyun, Gerry Runyun, Mike Runyun, Tim Cole, Terry Cole, and Mike Steadham.
