Winford E. Brown

(NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C.) Winford E. Brown, 77, husband of Annette Calhoun Brown, died Monday, Dec. 24, 2012, at his residence.

The funeral will be Thursday, Dec. 27, at 2 p.m. EST in the chapel of Rowland Funeral Home with the Revs. Mark Owens and Roy Kiser officiating. Burial will follow in Pineview Memorial Park.

Mr. Brown was born April 22, 1935, in Heard County, Ga., to the late Albert and Bessie L. Brown and was raised in the Big Springs community of Randolph County, Ala. He was a member of First Baptist Church of North Augusta. Mr. Brown was a member of the Lions Club and the Masonic Lodge. He retired from Hav-A-Tampa Cigars after 25 years and then retired from Brown Sheetmetal Works. Mr. Brown was an active volunteer for Comona and was a former coach for the recreation department.

Additional survivors include one son, Rob Brown and his wife Stefanie of Marietta, Ga.; one daughter, Sharon Lamar and her husband Philip of North Augusta; one brother, Wayne Brown of Roanoke; and four grandchildren.
