Roland Quentin Hester

(VILLA RICA, Ga.) Funeral services for Roland Quentin Hester, 86, of Villa Rica, Ga., formerly of Roanoke, will be at 1 p.m. CST, Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012, at Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Joe Tanner officiating. Burial will follow in Randolph Memory Gardens.

Mr. Hester died Friday, Dec. 14, at his home.

Mr. Hester was born Aug. 21, 1926, the son of Benjamin A. and Lula Duke Hester. He was of the Baptist faith and had worked in the textile industry. Mr. Hester was a member of Masonic Lodge 72 in Villa Rica and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Mr. Hester is survived by his wife, Macie Brand Hester of Villa Rica; two daughters and sons-in-law, Wanda and David Privett of Jonesboro, Ga., and Vickie and Glenn Kuhn of Villa Rica; and five sisters, Clara Rollins, Laura Stewart and Eunice Stewart, all of Woodland, Vivian Burdette of LaGrange, Ga., and and Fay Bennett of Wadley. Mr. Hester was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Mark P. Hester; and three brothers, Herman Hester, Alfred Hester and Emmett Hester.

Pallbearers will be Tim Bennett, Phil Griffin, Arnold Rollins, Norman Stewart, John Rakestraw and Danny Phillips.

The family will receive friends from noon to 1 p.m. CST on Tuesday, Dec. 18, at the funeral home. Flowers will be accepted or donations to one’s favorite charity. Condolences may be expressed at www.quattlebaumfuneralhome.com.
