Morris Sheppard

(WELCH) Services for Morris (Stomp Dog) Sheppard, 59, of Welch were Saturday, May 19, 2012, at 1 p.m. CDT at Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church, Standing Rock, with the Rev. W.H. Trammell officiating.

Mrs. Sheppard was born July 14, 1952, in Chambers County to Lonnie Sheppard Jr. and Lottie Griggs Sheppard.

He departed this life May 15, 2012, at Roanoke Health Care, Roanoke. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, James Rufus Sheppard; and his grandparents, Lonnie Sheppard Sr. and Marie Sheppard and Charlie and Izora Griggs.

He is survived by three brothers, Walter Sheppard of Camp Hill, Bennie Sheppard of Bay City, Mich., and Carl David Sheppard of Oceanside, Calif.; four sisters, Burnice Ray, Betty Sheppard and Angela Sheppard of LaGrange, Ga., Janice Bell of Roanoke; eight aunts; 16 nieces and nephews; 12 great-nieces and great-nephews; and a host of cousins and friends.
