Woodland boys, girls on early season streaks

Woodland Boys

The Woodland Bobcats defeated the Wadley Bulldogs, 70-35, to start the season.

The Bobcats followed up the win over the Bulldogs with a 59-48 area win over Ranburne.

Woodland girls

The Lady Bobcats are up to their usual tricks early in the season, dominating every opponent.

Woodland defeated White Plains, 72-34, to start the season.

Woodland was led by Leah Strain with 34 points and 9 steals and Jaide Walker with 9 points.

Woodland defeated Wadley 72-23 last Monday to move to 2-0.

Strain led once again with 21 points, 9 rebounds and 5 steals. Shanna Strain added 9 points, Amy Strain had 9 points and 11 rebounds and Walker had 8 points.

On Friday, the Lady Bobcats throttled Ranburne, 81-32.

Leah Strain led the way with 20 points and 6 rebounds. Walker put up 12 points, Makayla Ford added 11 points and Shanna Strain was good for 10 points.

Woodland defeated Spring Garden, 70-54, Monday on the road.

Leah Strain led the squad with 24 points, 9 rebounds and 8 steals. Shanna Strain and Walker each scored 14 points.

Wadley boys

The Wadley Bulldogs are off to an 0-2 start this season with losses to Woodland and to Ranburne, 55-54.

Wadley girls

The Lady Bulldogs of Wadley are also off to an 0-2 start to the new season. Wadley was defeated by Woodland and Ranburne, 50-23.
