Izora Griggs

(ROANOKE) Izora Griggs, 94, of Roanoke died Friday, Oct. 7, 2011, at LaFayette Nursing Home in LaFayette.

The funeral will be Tuesday, Oct. 11, at 1 p.m. at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Standing Rock with the Rev. W.H. Trammell officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Griggs is survived by five daughters, Erma J. Coney and Mary Patterson and husband Tyrone, all of LaGrange, Ga., Teresa D. Jones of Columbus, Ga., Maggie R. Baker of Auburn and Clara M. Trammell of Roanoke; one sister, Marie Collier of Roanoke; two daughters-in-law; 41 grandchildren; 51 great-grandchildren; and 20 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Griggs was born May 17, 1917.
