Irma Mitchum Borders

(ROANOKE) Services for Irma Mitchum Borders, 83, of Roanoke will be at Quattlebaum Funeral Home Chapel in Roanoke at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, April 27, 2011, with the Rev. Larry Armstrong officiating. The family will receive friends at Quattlebaum Funeral Home prior to the funeral beginning at 2 p.m. Interment followed at Randolph Memory Gardens.

Ms. Borders died Monday, April 25, at Traylor Nursing Home.

Ms. Borders was born on April 21, 1928, daughter of Gillie Jackson Mitchum and Will Mitchum. She was retired from SouthTrust Bank, where she held positions from cashier to vice president.

She is survived by nieces and nephews, Betty Moore, Jimmy Mitchum of Savannah, Ga., Billy Mitchum and Johnny Mitchum of Chatsworth, Ga., Bobby Mitchum of Texas, Connie M. Workman, Tommy Mitchum, Donnie Mitchum and Kerry Mitchum of Robertsdale, Lynda M. Tucker of Enterprise and Jerry Mitchum, Jean M. Webb, Marsha M. Darden and Teri M. Tennant. Ms. Borders was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Catherine M. Adcock; and five brothers, Jim Mitchum, Lon Mitchum, B.J. Mitchum, Raymond Mitchum and Lee Mitchum.

Pallbearers were Jerry Mitchum, Billy Lane, Perry Mitchum, Jim Darden, Mitch Darden, John Webb, Johnny Tennant and Will Tennant.
