Jimmie Lamar Moore

(ROANOKE) Funeral services for Jimmie Lamar Moore, 79, of Roanoke will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday, April 13, 2011, at Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with the Revs. Harold Bonner and Steve Baccus officiating. Burial will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery.

Mr. Moore died Monday, April 11, at his home.

Mr. Moore was born Sept. 20, 1931, the son of Lamar Eugene and Maude Ellen Aldridge Moore. He had been a member of Lowell United Methodist Church, was founder of JLM Co. Inc., and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

Mr. Moore is survived by his wife, Betty Ann Mitchum Moore of Roanoke; one daughter, Stacy Ann Moore of Roanoke; two sons, James Larry (wife Kathie) Moore of Stapleton and Douglas Eugene (wife Teresa) Moore of Roanoke; two sisters, Bonnie Sue Knight of Roanoke and Faye Marie Webster of Hopkinsville, Ky.; one brother, Thomas Eugene Moore of Roanoke; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Garfield Clark, Johnny Adcock, Robbie Robertson, John Abernathy, Curt Yarbrough and Guy Thompson.

The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home on Tuesday, April 12. Condolences may be expressed at www.quattlebaumfuneralhome.com. Flowers will be accepted or a donation to the charity of one’s choice.
