Abby Lou Poage Skelton

(GREENSBORO, N.C.) Abby Lou Poage Skelton, 94, of Greensboro, N.C., died Friday, April 8, 2011, at Liberty Commons, Burlington, N.C.

Burial will be at a later date in LaGrange, Ga.

Mrs. Skelton was born Nov. 23, 1916, in Roanoke, Alabama to the late Leonard and Susie Turner Poage. She was a dietitian for Troup County (Ga.) Schools.

She is survived by her daughter, Sue McLawhorn of Greensboro; one sister, Alma Cook of LaGrange; two grandchildren, Neca Johnson and Jared Skelton; and three great-grandchildren. Abby was preceded in death by her husband, Posey Dorsey Skelton, and a son, Jerry Skelton.
