Warren C. Harris

(MOBILE) Warren C. Harris, a native of Wadley and a longtime resident of Mobile, died peacefully at his home on Sunday, Jan. 16, 2011.

Mr. Harris attended the University of Alabama graduating from the School of Law. He was a Naval aviator during World War II and retired from State Farm Insurance as a claims superintendent. Mr. Harris was known for his sharp wit and intellect and his long-standing friendships. He loved his family and Alabama football. He enjoyed the game of golf for many years. In later life he enjoyed a regular card game and his vegetable garden. Mr. Harris was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Jeanne Baird Harris.

He is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Melissa H. and John Roombos, Amanda H. and Bill Prus and Rebecca H. and Jeffery Grizzle; five grandchildren; nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Services will be held in the Chapel of Pine Crest Funeral Home on Friday, Jan. 21, at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 10-11 a.m. The family requests in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or Kingswood United Methodist Church.
