Richard Lewis Oliver

(ATLANTA) Richard Lewis Oliver, 68, of Atlanta, formerly of Roanoke, died Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2010, at Westminster Commons, Atlanta. Graveside services were at Canaan Baptist Church Cemetery, Welch, on Saturday, Sept. 11, at 11 a.m. CDT, with the Rev. Gilbert Staples officiating.

Mr. Oliver was born May 11, 1942, in Stroud to the late Eddie B. and Cora Oliver. He moved to Atlanta in his early years and became a master brick mason. Mr. Oliver practiced his trade for many years until he became disabled.

Mr. Oliver is survived by four sisters, Mary L. Norman and Jessie Higgins of Atlanta, Eddie Lee Woods of San Francisco, Calif., and Juanita O. Dunson of Roanoke; two brothers, Kenny G. Oliver of Atlanta and Wendell Oliver of Roanoke; and one aunt, along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
