Kathryn Gay Tice

(BIRMINGHAM) Kathryn Gay Tice, 89, of Birmingham, formerly a long time resident of Phenix City, died Saturday, Aug. 28, 2010, in Birmingham.

Funeral services were at 11 a.m. EDT Thursday, Sept. 2, in the chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Phenix City, with the Rev. Alan Griffith officiating. Private interment will be in Lakeview Memory Gardens.

Mrs. Tice was born April 22, 1921, in Roanoke, daughter of the late Otis Gay and Mary Burke Gay. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Phenix City and formerly employed at Opelika Manufacturing Co. in Phenix City. Other than her parents, Mrs. Tice is preceded in death by her daughter, Kathy Newsome Arnold.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Virginia and Robert Boliek of Birmingham; two granddaughters; grandson; sister, Agnes Nixon of Inverness, Fla.; son-in-law, Ken Arnold of Orlando, Fla.; four great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
