Robert Lee Foster
(ROANOKE) Robert Lee Foster, 61, of Randolph Street, Roanoke, died following a tragic automobile accident on Monday, March 8, 2010, at Randolph Medical Center.
The funeral for Mr. Foster was Friday, March 12, at noon at Deliverance Temple Church of the Living God with Bishop C.L. Wilkes, pastor, officiating. Burial followed at Skyview Memorial Gardens, Welch.
Mr. Foster was born June 30, 1948, to Eddie B. and Annie Ruth Foster of Roanoke. He attended Randolph County Training School. Mr. Foster joined Peace and Goodwill Baptist Church at an early age. He later joined Deliverance Temple Church of the Living God, where he served as a deacon. In 1983, Mr. Foster married Dorothy J. Berry. He was an employee of Franklin Aluminum in Franklin, Ga., for 25 years until he retired in 2008. Mr. Foster was preceded in death by his father, Eddie B. Foster, one sister and one brother.
In addition to his wife and mother, Mr. Foster is survived by seven children, Betty Randolph, Robert Foster Jr., Danny Foster and Ann Foster, all of Tuskegee, Stephanie J. Foster of Leeds, Shaneeda D. Staples and husband Robert Jr. of Montgomery and Robert D. Foster of Roanoke; three sisters, Catherine Tucker of Roanoke, Janie L. Longino of Atlanta and Rubye Thomas of Defuniak Springs, Fla.; two brothers, Eddie B. Foster Jr. and Willie F. Foster of Roanoke; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
