Handley 49, Lincoln 13

The Handley Tigers routed the Lincoln Golden Bears Friday night in Roanoke, 49-13.

Handley scored first with a 30-yard touchdown run from Shaquille Trammell after Darius Finley picked up 15 of those yards and flipped it out on the option. Austin Fetner’s point after was successful and with 8:18 left in the first quarter, Handley led 7-0.

Finley connected with Corey Smith on a 55-yard touchdown pass with 6:30 to play in the first quarter and with Fetner’s kick, Handley led 14-0.

Finley accounted for another score with 11:48 left in the second quarter on a 27-yard touchdown run. Fetner’s point after made it 21-0 Handley.

Lincoln scored on a 73-yard run from DJ Howard with 11:28 left to play in the second quarter. The point after was good, making the score 21-7.

Finley scored again from 5-yards out with 6:01 to play in the second quarter. Fetner’s kick was good giving Handley a 28-7 lead.

Lincoln scored first in the third quarter with a 68-yard touchdown run from Howard with 11:40 left to play in the third. The point after was blocked, making the score 28-13.

Finley added another touchdown pass to his resume with an 8-yarder to Breyon DeBerry with 6:57 to play in the third quarter. Fetner made it 35-13.

Ladarrious Phillips got in on the scoring action with a 33-yard touchdown run with 11:08 to play in the fourth quarter. With Fetner’s extra point, Handley led 42-13.

Trae Dunson capped off the scoring with a 5-yard touchdown run with 3:59 left to play in the fourth. Corey Smith kicked the extra point to make the final 49-13.

Clay County 12, Woodland 8

Woodland couldn’t hold off a late drive from Clay County, giving the visiting Panthers a narrow 12-8 win.

With the scored tied at 0-0 at halftime, Woodland finally got on the board with a 13-yard touchdown pass from Trey Fetner to Kurt Brown. Woodland converted the two point try with a connection from Fetner to Tyler Napier. With 6:35 to play in the third quarter Woodland led 8-0.

Clay County scored on a touchdown pass from Zachery Jordan to Dreeman Ackles with 6:15 to play in the fourth quarter. The two-point try failed and Woodland kept a slim 8-6 lead.

Clay County scored the go ahead touchdown with 1:18 left in the fourth quarter to take the win.

Randolph County 33, Ohatchee 7

Randolph County gave the fans a good homecoming by dispatching Ohatchee 33-7.

Drew Benefield scored the first touchdown for the Tigers on a 4-yard run with 3:39 to play in the first quarter. The point after failed.

Dwayne Childs put up Randolph County’s next score, a 69-yard run with 6:53 to play in the second quarter. The extra point failed and Randolph County led 12-0.

On the first play of the third quarter, Childs broke free again, this time on a 64-yard touchdown run. The point after was good, giving Randolph County a 19-0 lead.

With 11:35 left in the fourth quarter, Childs found daylight again, scoring from 85-yards out. The point after gave Randolph County a 26-0 lead.

Drew Benefield added a 39-yard touchdown pass to Trey Exum to boost the score to 33-0 with 11:02 left in the game.

Ohatchee scored with about five minutes left in the game.

Wadley 34, Fayetteville 7

The Wadley Bulldogs pulled off their second region win of the year by defeating Fayetteville on the road Friday night.
