Three arrested on meth charges
Three young Roanoke residents were arrested during the raid of a meth lab on Wednesday of last week.
According to Roanoke Police Chief Adam Melton, officers executed a search warrant at 740 Omaha Rd. where they found methamphetamine and components used to make methamphetamine.
The resident of the house, Donald Eugene Scott, is charged with possession of methamphetamine, trafficking methamphetamine, manufacture of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Terri Rae Johnson, 18, of 121 West Point St., is charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Justin Ryan Dalton, 18, of 193 County Rd. 900 is charged with possession of marijuana.
All of the subjects were transferred to Randolph County Jail.
Smoke detector charge
Police Chief Adam Melton explained a “smoke detector” charge in the police report in last week’s paper.
Melton said a guest at the Key West Inn thought there might be a possible electrical fire because of a smell the heater was making. There was no fire and no damage, but it turned out their smoke alarm didn’t work.
When fire investigator Bill Ford arrived, it turned out about half of the smoke detectors at the hotel didn’t function. Thus, the manager was charged with a smoke detector violation.
Melton said the motel was brought up to code before the police and fire department left that day.
