Burrell Heath

(DAYTON, Ohio) Burrell “Grey Eyes” Heath, 93, of Dayton, Ohio, died Sunday, Dec. 14, 2008, at his residence.

He was born April 15, 1915, to the late Jim and Almeeta Dansby Heath in Wedowee, Ala. Mr. Heath attended school in Rome, Ga. In 1952, he and his wife moved to Dayton and became members of Mt. Enon Missionary Baptist Church. He was employed with Frigidare and later retired from Dayton Steel following 22 years of service He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Estella Heath; three daughters, Sarah B. Johnson, Frances A. Seals and Bernice Waterhouse; a son, Robert Heath; a brother, Willie Heath; and a sister, Elizabeth Hurston-Hunter.

He leaves to cherish his loving memories a daughter, Betty Minefield; two sons, Amos Heath and James Heath, all of Dayton; 17 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, 17 great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, other relatives and friend.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 20, 2008 at Thomas Funeral Home with Bishop Ted Willis officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Interment will be at West Memory Gardens.
