Mary Jim Washington

(LaGRANGE, Ga.) Mary Jim Washington, 78, of LaGrange, Ga., died Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2008, at Hospice LaGrange.

Mrs. Washington was born Nov. 26, 1930, in Roanoke, daughter of the late Fred Jenkins Bailey and Nannie Sue Jackson Bailey. She had lived in LaGrange most of her life and was a member of East Vernon Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a son, Glenn Washington.

Survivors include her husband, Ray Washington; son, Jimmy Washington of LaGrange; sisters, Maxine Breed of Roanoke and Glynis Perdue of LaGrange; brothers, Wayne Bailey of Columbus, Ga., and Jerome Bailey of Decatur, Ill.; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 13, at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, LaGrange Chapel with the Revs. Dwayne Perdue and Ronnie Puckett officiating. Entombment will follow in Restlawn Memory Gardens Mausoleum.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday.
