Catherine Phillips Harrington

(HAMPTON, Ga.) Catherine Phillips Harrington, 81, of Hampton, Ga., died Sunday, Nov. 23, 2008.

She was born in Carroll County, Ga., to the late Wilburn and Ola Kate Turner Phillips and was preceded in death by a brother, W.T. Phillips, and her husband, John Lewis Harrington. Catherine was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church in Carrollton and was retired after 25 years with Owens-Illinois in Hapeville, Ga. She was a loving mother and grandmother and was the bond that kept her family together. She was described as being very giving and enjoyed gardening.

Survivors include her children, Bobby W. Harrington, Sarah Richardson, Patsy Dobbs, Cathy Harrington Lacey and Becky Mikolaitis; sisters, Allie Hutcheson, Doris Crook and Barbara Jean Braswell; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside funeral services will be Wednesday, Nov. 26, at 1 p.m. CST at Herren’s Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Woodland, Ala.

Friends may visit the family on Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. CST at Herren’s Grove Baptist Church.

Contributions may be made to Bethel United Methodist Church in memory of Mrs. Harrington.
