James Earl Harry Jr.
(ROANOKE) Services for James Earl Harry Jr., 82, of Roanoke, formerly of LaGrange, Ga., will be held Tuesday, July 29, 2008, at 4 p.m. at Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with the Revs. Gary Baugh and Richard Meade officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, July 28.
Mr. Harry died Sunday, July 27, at Roanoke Healthcare.
Survivors include his wife, Flora Nell Bledsoe Harry of Roanoke, whom he married on July 1, 1952; one son, James Curtis Harry of Birmingham; one sister, Lorraine Sallinger of Marrero, La.
A Troup County, Ga., native, Mr. Harry was born March 23, 1926, son of James Earl Harry Sr. and Nannie Lou Malley Harry. He was a World War II Air Force and Navy veteran and a member of Handley Avenue Church of God. He was affectionately known as “Papa Harry” to many children during his lifetime.
